Raven’s Wish Gallery is hosting a presentation, discussion and demonstration pertaining to mason bees on Saturday, July 11th from 10am-11:30am. The public is welcome to attend, at no cost.
Three-fourths of the world's food supply depends on animal pollinators. The plight of honey bees and their disappearance through colony collapse disorder has been widely reported, yet there is another pollinator right under our noses -- the gentle mason bee.
Local authors Cinder Roherty and Pat Hall will discuss mason bees and show examples of simple, do-it-yourself bee hotels. Cinder is the author of "Flushed", a book whose plot pivots on mason bee hotels. Pat has constructed and implemented several bee hotels and is the author of "Ida May's Borrowed Trouble" and the soon-to-be-released "Beasties".
